About Stone Surfaces

The Beginning:  Pierre Rancourt and Dimitris Kampouris met in the mid 1990's while both working for a small, local stone fabricator in the Boston area.  For Pierre, working as an estimator and salesperson, it was his introduction to the stone industry after growing up in Connecticut working in his father's well respected construction business and then graduating from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Architectural Engineering.  For Dimitris, working as the lead installer, it was the continuation of establishing himself as one of the foremost stone craftsmen in the New England area after growing up working with stone alongside his family in Greece and then bringing his skills to California prior to moving to Boston.  Before long, each of them had become esteemed and sought after professionals in the industry while helping to turn that small fabricator into a local leader in the stone business.

Fast forward to 2004, after forging a strong friendship and respect for each others' work, a "For Lease" sign in front of an old industrial building in Burlington, MA caught their attention and was the spark that ignited an endeavor to bring the highest quality natural stone to homeowners, builders, designers and architects throughout the Boston area.  That old industrial building became the showroom and fabrication shop that Stone Surfaces would use to establish an unsurpassed reputation for service and quality that endures today. 

In 2014, Stone Surfaces relocated to a newly built home at 275 Salem Street in Woburn, which currently houses their designer showroom, expansive slab warehouse and state of the art fabrication facility.  Having all three areas of the business under one roof gives Stone Surfaces a distinct advantage over other stone fabricators and promotes a collaboration between everyone in the company to make sure every job, small or large, receives the fullest attention right down to the finest detail.  Communication between our salespeople, project managers, fabricators and installers is one of the many things that set us apart from our competition.  Our breadth of customers, from homeowners to commercial clients, designers to custom builders, is a testament to the reputation the company has built.
